All I play now are Dean guitars.
What kind of amp do you play?
I'm trying out a few different amps right now. I currently don't have a main amp that I only play. I've been jumping around a lot from one amp to another.
What is your pedal configuration and how did you come up with that sound?
I dont use shit really. I have a wah I use occasionally and a tube screamer for leads.
When does the 3rd Killingbird record come out?
We're all hoping soon. We are always constantly writing so the songs just keep getting better. We just haven't settled on a label for the release yet.
When is your next solo CD being released?
My second solo CD is pretty much finished so the sooner the better. I already have a lot of ideas for the third.
How did you think of inventing this ROCK JIMMY thing?
I guess I just wondered why the instrument plugs always looked the same. It couldn't be more boring. It just seemed like a good idea to offer players the option to change the appearance and get creative in customizing their shit.
So, you just got off tour with SCUM OF THE EARTH. What was it like playing Riggs' songs?
I was a great time. I enjoy the tunes and they're really fun to play live. I wouldn't play with someone if I didn't like the music.
So, what's it like to be Skyla Talon these days?
Lately it's been busy, but that's a good thing. When I'm not touring I'm in the studio. In between all of that Im coming up with more ideas for Rock Jimmies.
The song "Stared At The Sun" from your first solo CD, ALL THE DEAD FLOWERS, is amazing. What were you thinking when you wrote it?
Thats the only song from that CD that I wrote a couple years before. I dont recall what triggered that song to be written. It originally was done even more mellow and depressing. I lost that version so I just updated it a little bit so it would fit All The Dead Flowers a little better.
Where's your home base?
When Im not causing trouble in Hollywood, CA Im locked in my studio in Van Nuys, CA.

I was born in Mount Pleasant, MI.
What's your favorite food?
Thats tough. Lately its been Sushi. Any seafood.
What's your favorite drink?
Again, this depends on the day. It could be a Margarita or a light beer (not picky) or just some Vodka. If Im not drinking alcohol Ill usually stick to water.

What made you want to play guitar?
I dont think any one thing turned me into a guitar player. I just remember being a fan of music. Guitar just seemed like the best choice if I wanted to create.

There have been times when I wanted to punch everybody.
What would you be doing if you weren't playing guitar?
I dont think about that. I never had anything to fall back on so that way I had no choice. Guitar playing has definitely led me in other directions now though such as recording and producing.
What's your favorite movie?
I dont have a favorite.
Was high school hard for you? Socially as well as academically. Be honest, there's lots of kids out there who have a rough time in high school and perhaps they could relate to you're story.
Actually I thought it was easy and boring. I got good grades and was a popular kid I would say. If I would of known better I would of dropped out though. The last couple years of school just seemed pointless.
What's your ultimate goal?
As long as I can make music and stay alive then I'm there.
